About us
Van der Pol is the butter dough specialist. Together with sister company Royal VIVBuisman, Van der Pol is part of Van Ballegooijen Foods. A family business focused on producing and processing butter. Royal VIVBuisman produces butter and milk fat products. Van der Pol uses this high-quality butter, with its recognizable flavour, in its dough products. These dough products range from puff pastry and croissant dough to cookie dough chunks. We respond to wishes and needs and use our products to save our end customers time. They can use the time saved to produce a distinctive end product. Since 1987, Van der Pol may also call ‘Purveyor to the Royal Household’, a company that distinguishes itself through quality, solidity and continuity, endorsed by the king.

Puff pastry blocks
Puff pastry is a fundamental ingredient for various sweet and savory treats. Puff pastry consists of many layers of dough and butter, which is why it is called 'millefeuille' in French, meaning "thousand layers". This layered structure allows the dough to rise beautifully during baking, resulting in a crispy and airy texture. Additionally, the use of Dutch butter gives our puff pastry its recognizable rich aroma and flavour.
Croissant dough
Croissant dough, also known as Danish dough, shares many characteristics with puff pastry. However, there is one major difference: it contains yeast, which makes it rise. The yeast in croissant dough creates an even lighter and fluffier texture. In addition to this texture, the dough is recognizable by the rich aroma and taste of Dutch butter of our sister company. This contributes to the delightful flavour experience.
